Our Services

Mission Statement

Our mission in the Haven is to provide a high standard of care that is responsive to the individual needs of each young person, which is child centred, safe and supportive in an environment that strives to be as close as possible to the family environment. We view the young person as separate from their behaviour. Within a child centred, safe and supportive environment we strive to promote a sense of responsibility in the young person by dealing with their experiences to gain an understanding of their lives, personality and behaviour to offer them hope within the future.

The Haven focuses on development and attachment issues. We value the therapeutic relationship as the context within which difficulties can be systemically facilitated and explored. We aim to do this through the Trauma model of Care.

As our approach to care is holistic and (child centred) in nature we promote the importance of participation of family members in all aspects of the young persons life. We will actively encourage and facilitate this involvement where deemed appropriate for the healthy development and well being of the child. We aim to protect the rights of each young person in accordance with the Child Care Act 1991, Children’s First Guidelines and the UN Convention on the rights of the child 1989.
