A new concept in residential care for young people

The Haven is an innovative concept in residential care, providing comprehensive medium to long term facilities for up to seven young people (between the two units) in the 12 – 18 age range.

Our homes are registered by the North Eastern Health Board and is subject to inspection at any time. Referrals are generally made to us when children – for whatever reason – cannot live at home with their parents, guardians or other carers.

Staff at The Haven provide a safe and caring domestic environment which promotes each young person’s physical, intellectual and emotional health and development, in preparation for progression to an effective and fulfilling place in society.

A Statement of Purpose and Function has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Child Care Act 1991, The Child Care Regulations 1995 and The Child Care Standards in Children’s Residential Centres.

We operate a 24 hour on-call service, ensuring that a senior member of staff is constantly accessible by telephone. Senior staff are always available to support the residential team if necessary.
